Pastor's weekly pre-service update for Great Baddow
You can also see the latest UK-wide Announcements and Information here
_ We welcome Richard Fowler back to Great Baddow this weekend for the second of his two-part sermon on the Bible. Carol Crichton has the Worship Service and Len Maylin the announcements. I will be down for Fellowship and Life Club following a Norwich sermon.
LIFE CLUB takes place after GB services. We are grateful for those agreeing to speak and hope as many as can will attend and give support. Len Maylin is the Director for the Event. Next week Steve Robson also starts a two-part sermon; with the conclusion on March 31st. Edward Smith and Martin Brown take the song leading and announcements respectively. Len and Pam will be in Brighton and I will be in Dublin again. This report will therefore come out next Thursday. Next week is also Children’s Activity with Paul Edalere. We are looking for volunteers to assist Annabelle and her team in this regular monthly activity. What do you think? Could you spend some time with our junior members helping them to enjoy Church even more? Our Internet Outreach seems to go from strength to strength thanks to the work of David Plumley and the Team. We also thank the Hendersons for agreeing to fund some new equipment. We aim for a level of both professionalism and quality. (When Edward Smith spoke last week, we estimate that the viewing ‘audience’ was about the same as the membership in the hall – about 40-50 each. Good stuff!) We have also started to put both occasional scriptures and the speakers’ names up on screen where possible. Whilst on the subject of the Internet would everyone do their best to sit up front as much as possible? It would help the Internet viewing look much fuller. We don’t show members’ faces as you probably know, but the back view of a full Church is always more encouraging. It’s a common problem with parishioners in other denominations, even without Internet of course…! So let us see if we can be a little different. (It’s appreciated that some do need to sit at the back for various reasons.) Also continue to try to be in your seats with 5 minutes to spare – the Song Leader will give a five-minute ‘warning’. We start on time for 1pm for the Internet. Let’s be concerned for David Head who will have left knee surgery (like Richard Dutton had) next week the 17th. Paignton is a long way off, but the theme for the Festivals is (at the present time) John 14.6, where Jesus Christ said ‘I am the Way and the Truth and the Life’. Last week’s Advisory Council went well. The next meet will be on March 24th when I will rotate the team. I’ll talk to the new attendees personally so (you) know who you are and what it’s all about: (Basically being my eyes and ears for activities and suggestions that I will miss, with all that is going on). Warm Regards: TG. Here is the remaining schedule for February:
